Pols Should Make Entrepreneurship a Key Focus

Shouldn’t policy makers make promotion of entrepreneurship a key focus?

Prospective entrepreneurs need effective tax policy, training, education, access to capital, protection for excessive litigation, and encouragement. YES, ENCOURAGEMENT! Pols love to cut ribbons for big factories, but when was the last time you saw one at a business plan competition? Or the opening of a very small business? Or an inventors fair?

Given how important entrepreneurs are to our modern economy, driven as it is by small business, new company creation, technology, and changing demographics, shouldn't we up our game in encouraging them?

Consider, when was the last time you heard a pol say that we needed to improve our focus on math and science training in America? That's a message you hear repeatedly. But what about an agenda on entrepreneurship? zzzzzz.....

Cyber, please be the one who takes the time to define "small business".

According to Government Regulations/Law, just what is a "small business"? Especially, what is the dividing line between "small business" and big business?

This is a great point. While many politicians will talk about the importance of small business, few know what they are talking about. It is also rare for you to find a candidate who has an economic advisor who has realm experience and understanding of entrepreneurial issues.
